Abstract

The development of globalization is marked by the rise of increasingly sophisticated technological developments.  Like smartphone.gadget and its Jain.  For them especially millennials who are not wise in using such things as pomographic sites.  or other cyber crime can damage the character in themselves so that it can impact the nation.  Seeing this phenomenon, then da'wah is one way to reduce the deterioration of character, Buya Hamka is a contemporary scholar where preaching bil qalam he talks a lot about character education that is relevant to the present. This study aims to find out Hamka's perspective on character education in one of rich da'wah bil qalam Philosophy of Life and regarding the values ​​of character education in it, this research is a qualitative research with.  using content analysis techniques This research is a type of library research research.  The primary data source is the da'wah bil qolam buya hamka in the form.  his writing the book Philosophy of Life while the secondary data source comes from his other books on character education which aims as data validation, Based on the findings and results of this study it is known that character education in the book of living philosophy is. Education that emphasizes religious values ​​and is a useful human being in society in helping to realize the ideals of the nation.  The values ​​of character education in the book of life philosophy include: (1) reason, (2) science and (3) manners.
